Western Digital My Passport 1TB
External Hard Drive Review

Western Digital has come up with a 1TB external Hard dive for £79.99!
This hard drive has the fastest type of USB connector, which is USB3.0. The New connector has read/write speeds of up to 200Mbp/s!

The hard drives stores 1000GB of files or 1TB. As it is made by western digital the drive is very well made and is also very reliable. The drive weighs in at 200g and the cable is quite short (20cm). The drive I bought was the black version and on the top there is the western digital logo, a pattern and the patch for name engraving for an extra £20.

The soft where the dive comes with leaves a lot to be desired. Although the Drive health is handy the back-up software is not very good. In fact it is useless. The security is quite good as if you enter the incorrect pass code 5 times it locks up the drive until it gets plugged In to the PC it was registered with.

In the box you will find: the hard drive, USB cable and instructions.
Western Digital uses their own strange connector so best not to loose it!
The instructions cover the software use and copyright and also cover the warranty information. The strange thing about the warranty is that it covers accidental damage! You can use the drive to store programs, Operating systems and games.

The hard drive is pre-formatted to work with windows but will work with OSX if re-formatted to Fat 32.

I bought mine from PC world but I’m sure I could get it cheaper now elsewhere but that was the cheapest when I bought it.

So, over all I rate it 4 stars out of 5.
Pros: speed, looks, warranty and design
Cons: Price
